Storage and precautions

Storage

Essential oils are sensitive to UV radiation, and their constituents can gradually evaporate. It is, therefore, crucial to store your essential oils in a sealed coloured glass or aluminium bottle between 5°C and 40°C.

Precautions

  • Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

  • Avoid contact with eyes.

  • Certain natural compounds contained in this essential oil may present a risk of allergy for certain sensitive individuals when the essential oil is incorporated into a cosmetic composition (in accordance with the 7th Amendment to the European Directive on cosmetic products (2003/15/EC)): limonene and, to a lesser extent, linalool.

  • As a general rule, always carry out a test application of your mixture, in the crease of the elbow, at least 48 hours before using it.

  • Dangerous. Observe safety precautions.

  • Flammable liquid and vapour. May cause an allergic reaction. Causes skin irritation (risk associated with the pure product). May be fatal if swallowed or if it enters the respiratory tract (if accidentally swallowed, do not induce vomiting). Very toxic to aquatic life causing long lasting effects (in the event of massive spillage of the product into a watercourse).

Goldenrod is a perennial plant in the Asteraceae family. Also known as solidago, it is said that Linnaeus, the Swedish naturalist who established the classification of plants, gave it the scientific name solidago, meaning "strength maker", because this plant helps to heal wounds. Originally from North America, there are now over 120 species introduced into Europe.

  • Goldenrod essential oil: 2 ml

  • Helichrysum italicum essential oil: 2 ml

  • Vetiver essential oil: 2 ml

  • St John's wort macerated oil: 30 ml

  • Virgin olive oil: 30 ml

Use: Gently massage the solar plexus and the area around the liver 1 to 2 times a day with a few drops of the blend. Take 1 drop of each essential oil with a meal, either in a piece of bread or in a teaspoon of olive oil.

Aroma-Zone note: St John's wort macerated oil can increase photosensitivity. Do not expose yourself to the sun after applying this blend.

Inflammatory pain - soothing bath (M-C. Laparé)

  • Solidago canadensis (Goldenrod) essential oil: 20 drops

  • Eucalyptus citriodora (Lemon eucalyptus) essential oil: 10 drops

  • Carrier oil: 1 ml

  • Fine sea salt: 100 grams

Directions: Add the mixture of essential oils and carrier oil to the salt, and then pour it under the running tap. The bath water should be at body temperature (37°C).

Use: Rub a few drops into the skin.

Further information

1 full teaspoon = between 3 and 4.5 ml

1 full tablespoon = between 7.5 and 10 ml


However, these spoon ratios depend on a number of factors (e.g. viscosity of the liquid, temperature, depth and size of the spoon, rheological behaviour of the liquid), and we strongly advise you to use precise measuring equipment, such as graduated test tubes, graduated pipettes, and precision scales.
