In balms and sticks : 1 to 10% (of the total weight of your preparation), or even more, to be added to the oil phase
In emulsions (creams) : 1 to 5% (of the total weight of your preparation), to be added to the oil phase
As the sole wax, mixed with oils and butters to create balms.
Used alone, without an emulsifier, to make "Gallien cerate" type creams: the wax helps to "hold" the emulsion by thickening the oil phase. These emulsions are quite difficult to make and are often unstable over time. To make stable emulsions easily, we recommend using an emulsifier and adding wax for a protective and nourishing effect.
In combination with an emulsifier: adding a small amount (1-5%) of wax to an emulsion thickens it and increases its stability and film-forming power, while giving it a creamy texture and soft feel.
In combination with other waxes (candelilla, carnauba, beeswax) in lip balms and lipsticks.

Melt the wax in a double boiler with the other ingredients in the oil phase. Rice wax requires a simmering double boiler at around 180°F (90°C) to melt.
Quality
100% pure and natural
Method of production
This wax is obtained from the husk of the rice grain. An extraction process separates the vegetable oil from the rice bran on the one hand, and the rice wax on the other. The wax is then bleached.
Country of origin
China
INCI designation
Rice (Oryza sativa) bran wax
Composition
Mainly composed of waxy esters of long-chain fatty acids and alcohols.
Presentation
Small beads ranging from very pale yellow to yellow in colour, packaged in zip-lock bags.
Galenic Cerate is a thousand-year-old cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparation, traditionally made from sweet almond oil, rose hydrosol, beeswax and borax. It is a "water-in-oil" cream with a rich texture and nourishing and protective properties that are highly appreciated by dry and very dry skin. The wax helps to bind the emulsion, in combination with borax, which also has preservative properties.
Storage
Store at room temperature away from moisture and light. Close the bag tightly after use.
Precautions
Keep out of reach of children, do not swallow, avoid contact with eyes.
Be careful not to burn yourself when handling melted wax.

EO = Essential Oil VO = Vegetable Oil or Oily Macerate
60 g shea butter
20 g baobab oil
20 g rice wax
4 teaspoons of vegetable glycerin
20 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil
7 drops of natural vitamin E
Method: Melt the wax and butter in the vegetable oil in a double boiler. When the wax has melted, remove from the heat and leave to cool for a few minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and mix with a whisk or pestle. Pour into the jar before the mixture hardens.
Use: Use in summer and winter to soothe skin exposed to heat or cold, softening and rehydrating it.
For a 50 ml glass jar
Equipment: 1 saucepan; 1 mortar; 1 pestle; 1 mini whisk; 1 scale.
Aloe vera oil macerate: 15 g
Organic Rosemary Verbenone Hydrosol: 5 g
Vegetable substitute for lanolin: 2 g
Rice wax: 2 g
Shea butter: 1 g
Licorice powder: 1 teaspoon
Propolis plant tincture: 5 drops
Natural vitamin E: 4 drops
Method: Pour the aloe vera oil macerate, rice wax, and shea butter into the mortar. Heat the mixture in a double boiler until the rice wax and shea butter are completely melted. Remove the saucepan from the heat and wait for the mixture to cool slightly. Add the rosemary hydrosol in small amounts, stirring in a figure-eight motion with the pestle at the bottom of the mortar to help the emulsion set. Add the licorice powder, vegetable lanolin substitute, propolis vegetable tincture, and vitamin E, continuing to stir in a figure-eight motion with the pestle. Pour the mixture into the jar and store in a cool place.
Important notes (Aroma-Zone): It is not easy to make a stable emulsion (cream, milk) using only wax. As waxes are weak emulsifiers, we recommend adding an emulsifier. In addition, to ensure the preservation of this preparation, we recommend adding a preservative.
26 g Italian Helichrysum hydrosol
17 g of aloe vera oil macerate
7 g of rice wax
1 tsp ginseng powder
5 drops of peach aromatic extract
4 drops of propolis extract
4 drops of natural vitamin E
Method: For 50 ml of cream: melt the wax in the macerate in a double boiler. Once melted, remove from the heat and gradually add the hydrosol, whisking until the mixture cools. Add the remaining ingredients while continuing to whisk. Store in the refrigerator.
Use: Apply to the face in the morning, massaging gently.
3.3 ml of sesame oil
1.2 g organic shea butter
0.5 g white or yellow beeswax
0.4 g rice wax
0.3 g carnauba wax
0.3 g zinc oxide
1 PINCH of brown pigment (brown oxide)
1 knife tip of organic cocoa
15 drops of cocoa aromatic extract
1 drop of natural vitamin E
Method: Melt the 3 waxes with the shea butter and vegetable oil in a double boiler until the mixture is completely liquefied. Then add all the other ingredients to the bowl. Stir thoroughly and vigorously, alternating between a mini whisk and a pestle, to develop the color. Remove from the heat and quickly pour the hot, liquid mixture into a lipstick mold. Leave to cool for 5 minutes, then place in the freezer for 10 minutes. Carefully remove from the mold.
