Organoleptic properties

• Appearance: runny liquid

• Colour: pale yellow to emerald green depending on the batch

The colour of the elecampane essential oil depends on the distillation method used: when the plant is distilled in a stainless steel still, the resulting essential oil is pale yellow, whereas when distilled using the traditional method in a copper still, the essential oil has an emerald green colour (complexes form between the copper and the essential oil). This peculiarity, which only affects compounds present in minute trace amounts, does not alter the quality or properties of the essential oil.

Storage

Essential oils are sensitive to UV radiation and to the gradual evaporation of their volatile constituents. It is therefore essential to store your essential oils in a dark glass or aluminium bottle with a tightly fitting cap, at a temperature between 5°C and 40°C (41°F and 104°F).

Precautions

• Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women and for children under 6 years old. No internal use. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

• Always dilute before topical application.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Some natural compounds contained in this essential oil may present a risk of allergy for certain sensitive individuals when the essential oil is incorporated into a cosmetic preparation.

• Old or oxidised essential oils should be avoided.

• Store protected from light and air. As a general rule, always perform an application test of your preparation in the crease of the elbow at least 48 hours before use.

• For use as a cosmetic ingredient, please refer to the specific precautions.

Can be incorporated up to 0.5% in your cosmetic preparations.
