St John's wort is a botanical plant growing to between 40 and 60 cm tall. It is widespread in all temperate regions of the world, and is very common in France, where it grows mostly along roadsides. It owes its Latin name, Hypericum perforatum, to its perforated leaves with lots of translucent dots in them. The flowers of this herb have always been used in balms and ointments to combat gout, rheumatism, burns and to heal wounds.
St John's wort is a botanical plant growing to between 40 and 60 cm tall. It owes its name, St John's wort, which means "thousand holes" , to the many translucent dots that make up its leaves. Ambroise Paré recommended it as a valuable remedy "for deep wounds and wounds that pass through the body" .

Apply to the skin 1. Soothe with hydrosols In a 150ml bottle, mix:

25ml rose hydrosol
25ml peppermint water
Apply compresses generously soaked in this mixture to the sunburn 2 times a day 2. Treatment with essential oils In a 10ml bottle, mix:
2ml spike lavender essential oil
4ml St John's wort carrier oil
4ml calendula carrier oil

Apply a few drops locally, 4 to 5 times a day on the 1st day, then 2 to 3 times a day for the following 2 days.

Directions: Make an emulsion following the usual procedure. Finish with the essential oils of your choice in terms of fragrance.

17 drops of natural vitamin E
Directions: Pour the neutral shower gel into a bottle, followed by the hydrosol. Add the remaining ingredients and mix vigorously.

Directions: Mix the carrier oils and essential oils, then add the temanu carrier oil.
Use: Apply a small amount to the hands, then spread over the legs, once a day at bedtime, starting at the ankle and working up towards the knee, applying gentle pressure. Repeat this gentle massage 6 times without adding any lotion. Apply the same treatment to the other leg. Aroma-Zone note: The macerated oil presents a risk of photosensitisation.
