Self-emulsifying: forms stable emulsions without the need for co-emulsifiers or stabilisers. Easy to use, allowing very stable emulsions to be achieved with a simple whisk. Offers excellent stability across a wide pH range and produces rich textures, with the option to create foamy effects.
Preparation of face or body creams. Particularly suitable for making:

Use as the sole emulsifier, at a dosage of 5 to 8%.
In combination with a co-emulsifier/texturing agent, such as cetyl alcohol or stearic acid. These enrich and thicken the texture, while increasing the stability of the emulsion (especially useful at low dosages of Emulsifying Wax No. 2: 3-5%).
In combination with soy lecithin for rich but rather fluid textures with a soft and silky feel.
Combined with a gelling agent, such as xanthan gum (0.2-0.4%) in the aqueous phase. It makes the product very pleasant to apply and gives it a fresh feel, and it helps stabilise fluid emulsions at low doses of Emulsifying Wax No. 2.

Production of thick, non-greasy, creamy creams: 10-30% oil phase and 6-8% Emulsifying Wax No. 2
It is also possible to make very rich "water-in-oil" emulsions (with 50% oil) with Emulsifying Wax No. 2 by adding vegetable butter (5%) and vegetable wax (5%) to the oil phase. The emulsion "holds" thanks to the presence of wax and butter.

Milk-cream to fluid cream, extra-light, risk of instability, add xanthan gum (0.3%) in the aqueous phase to stabilize a cream with a very watery texture, or use a co-emulsifier: soy lecithin for a silky feel, or cetyl alcohol for a thicker, highly penetrating texture.

Extra light fluid cream, good stability, watery feel. The addition of xanthan gum (0.3%) will provide a little more consistency and slip.

Light but thick cream, very good stability.

Light fluid cream, risk of instability : add xanthan gum (0.3%) in the aqueous phase for a very fresh "jelly" texture, or use a co-emulsifier: soy lecithin for a silky feel or cetyl alcohol for a thicker, highly penetrating texture.

A melt-in-the-mouth cream with good stability, a fresh, moisturizing* feel, and a very versatile cream. The addition of xanthan gum (0.3%) will add a little more consistency and slip.

A thick but not overly rich creamy texture, very good stability.

Rich, fairly fluid emulsion, not very stable without a co-emulsifier. Recommended in combination with soy lecithin for a silky, nourishing milk-cream texture. Give it a try!

Our classic product: a superb cream that is wonderfully smooth and penetrating, with good stability. You can give it a smooth texture with a hand whisk, or turn it into a crisp mousse with a foam mixer.

For an even more cocooning, rich and thick cream with very good stability. Made with a whisk, it will be a nourishing mousse.

Hot emulsification at approximately 70°C.
Utensil: Hand whisk (for smooth textures) or electric mixer
Dissolve Emulsifying Wax No. 2 in the oil phase at approximately 70°C.
Heat the aqueous phase in another container to approximately 70°C.
Mix the two phases together, stirring vigorously.

Aroma-Zone tip
To create a "mousse" texture, you can use the Aroma-Zone emulsifying frother or whisk, moving it up and down to incorporate air into the emulsion. The "mousse" texture will generally appear after about 24 hours of resting at room temperature.

Focus on Sustainable Development
For Emulsifying Wax No. 2, we selected a laboratory committed to a sustainable development approach. Emulsifying Wax No. 2 is made in France from wheat straw, a renewable plant material not suitable for food, allowing the entire plant to be utilised. Supplies are sourced from local agricultural cooperatives, organised and regulated according to Good Agricultural Practices, ensuring full traceability of batches and promoting sustainable, integrated agriculture that reduces environmental impact while making use of plant co-products not intended for human consumption.
The lipophilic component of the emulsifier is derived from rapeseed and palm oils, with the latter sourced from RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) supply chains, an initiative that encourages responsible and sustainable palm oil production. The manufacturing process for this emulsifier does not use any toxic catalysts. In addition, the waxes used are vegetable-based, derived from rapeseed oil. Emulsifying Wax No. 2 is approved by Ecocert for use in organic cosmetics.
