Coco Silicone Emollient

Coco silicone is a naturally derived ester, derived from fatty alcohols in coconut oil.

Its exceptional feel gives it properties similar to synthetic silicones in cosmetics, but it is a completely different compound.

Synthetic silicones are silicon-based polymers. Widely used in non-natural cosmetics under names such as methicone, dimethicone, cyclomethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexasiloxane, etc., and their many derivatives, these synthetic oils, which are more or less volatile, make it possible to adjust the feel and texture of products to marketing needs, while increasing the volume of cosmetics at a lower cost.

Omnipresent in non-natural hair care products and shampoos, among other things, silicones coat the hair, temporarily repair it, add shine, make it easier to style...but in the long term they can suffocate the hair, weigh it down, and even make it "dependent" on silicones, since as soon as you stop using these products, it will become very dry and coarse again, prompting you to start using silicone-based products again. On the contrary, coconut silicone is a naturally occurring fatty ester. It helps to coat, smooth, and add shine to the hair without building up on the hair or suffocating it. It also does not clog the pores of the skin and allows it to breathe.
