Benzoin is undoubtedly the most commonly used plant-based raw material in perfumes.
Long reduced to the status of a scent fixative, benzoin is now recognized for its nobility in the greatest perfumes, where it brings delight and enchantment with its notes that are sometimes warm and milky or powdery and spicy.
Unlike Peru balsam, to which it is closely related, benzoin absolute is used almost as frequently in men's fragrances as in women's.
Frequently found in the composition of perfumes
Oriental vanilla, woody, spicy, or floral fragrances, where benzoin, as a balsamic base note, enhances the sweet vanilla notes, wild and warm scents, and sometimes even elegant wood notes.
Masculine woody fragrances: Benzoin acts as a true fixative in these fragrances, which, depending on the nature of the raw materials, have a warm and opulent character (in combination with sandalwood or patchouli) or a drier aspect (in combination with cedar or vetiver) and come in woody, spicy, aromatic, chypre, and other variations.
A few ideas
Feel free to incorporate it when creating your oriental fragrances: Benzoin Absolute will add depth and longevity to your perfume.
If you want to add a little more freshness to a woody fragrance, combine it with citrus top notes (bergamot, orange, grapefruit, etc.).
Be bold and combine spices with benzoin: cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, and be scandalous like Yves Saint Laurent's Opium.
Scent
Scent: top notes of soft, sweet, milky and vanilla scents, which gradually give way to warmer notes of caramel, honey and even roasted coffee.

Styrax tonkinensis is a tree that can grow up to 35 meters tall and grows wild in Laos, Thailand, and northern Vietnam. Its yellow to brown balsamic resin is collected by cutting into the trunks of trees that are over 7 years old.
It was traditionally used by indigenous tribes as a purifier, regenerator, and respiratory tract decongestant. Today, it is found in many dermatological and respiratory balms.
Rich in sweet vanilla and caramel notes, benzoin has long been used in perfumery as a scent fixative.
Its amber scent allows you to create compositions with sweet, spicy, and oriental notes. Comforting and warming, Benzoin also helps to soothe moments of nervous tension and promotes relaxation and meditation.
A bewitching gem that blends deliciously and delightfully with the most beautiful oriental fragrances.
