Originally from Central Asia, hemp cultivation quickly spread to neighbouring regions in India, Africa and Europe, before finally reaching the Americas. As it spread, the plant adapted to many different environments, enhancing its resilience and ability to thrive under different conditions. Today, hemp comprises several species with diverse chemical compositions and is one of the oldest cultivated plants.

Thanks to its exceptional properties, hemp was initially used across a variety of sectors, including the textile industry, traditional medicine and the food industry.

But over the course of the 20th century, with the advent of competing materials considered more efficient, such as synthetic fibres, and the strict regulations gradually applied to the plant's cultivation due to its use as a narcotic, hemp gradually fell into oblivion in Western Europe. However, it continued to be grown in certain regions of Northeastern Europe and Asia.

In recent years, hemp has nevertheless experienced a resurgence in popularity, driven in particular by its high yield, low water requirements, beneficial phytochemical compounds and high resilience. Until recently, hemp flowers and leaves were rarely used compared to hemp seeds and fibres, often regarded as waste. However, in recent years, the aerial parts of the hemp plant have gradually become co-products, particularly used in the production of essential oils and as a flavouring in the food industry, allowing the plant to be exploited in its entirety.

This is my first time using it. I am sure that I will soon feel its effects.
