Changing the way we consume cosmetics is one of the most effective ways to reduce the environmental impact of a beauty routine. At Aroma-Zone, the design of refillable formats is not a recent trend: it forms part of more than two decades of commitment to natural ingredients, waste reduction and upcycling. Since 2021, Aroma-Zone serums have been accompanied by their 100% recyclable eco-refills, designed to extend the life of products and reduce the carbon footprint of the their life cycle. At a time when natural resources are becoming increasingly scarce, in-house life cycle analyses show that every refill counts, and, above all, that the positive impact begins from the very first use.
What are Aroma-Zone’s commitments regarding refillable products?
Aroma-Zone’s packaging approach is based on the principles of eco-design, the circular economy, transparency and continuous improvement. We launched the first eco-refills for our serums in 2021, soon to be followed by those for our neutral creams and fragrance-free natural deodorant. These developments are part of a wider strategy aimed at reducing packaging – particularly secondary packaging – prioritising recycled materials and rethinking how our products are used to extend the lifespan of our bottles.
Why is the eco-refill environmentally friendly?
The eco-refill allows you to reuse your bottle instead of buying a new one, which immediately reduces the amount of waste generated. Its packaging, which is lighter and simpler, cuts down on plastic use and the impact of transport. It is often more economical, as the cost of packaging is significantly reduced. By limiting the production of new containers, the eco-refill contributes to more responsible consumption and a reduced environmental footprint. We provide our community with a comprehensive guide detailing how the eco-refills currently available in our catalogue work.
A commitment embedded in a circular economy approach
The Aroma-Zone IMPACT 2024–25 CSR report highlights all the brand’s initiatives in support of the circular economy: eco-refills, as well as bulk products and deposit schemes that promote the wider reuse of packaging. Our various approaches are tested, measured and refined using life-cycle assessments, in order to select solutions that are truly effective for the climate and biodiversity.
