Great Place to Work® certification

What does it say about the employee experience at Aroma-Zone?

At a time when finding meaning at work matters more than ever, some companies stand out for creating environments where people feel valued, engaged and trusted. In May 2025, Aroma-Zone reached an important milestone by earning the Great Place to Work® certification, recognising the quality of its working environment. The certification reflects a company culture built on listening, pride, ethical leadership and team spirit, with people at the heart of its mission. Here’s a closer look.

Summary

In May 2025, Aroma-Zone was awarded the Great Place to Work® certification, with 88% of employees stating they are proud to work for the company. These results reflect mutual trust and open up long-term prospects in terms of commitment, attractiveness and team development.

What is does the Great Place to Work® label mean?

This certification is awarded by the international organisation Great Place to Work, a global authority on the employee experience since 1992, which has been operating in France since 2002. This institute assesses how employees perceive their company and their working environment through an objective and structured assessment. A company is therefore considered a Great Place to Work® when it has a working environment based on trust, respect, pride in belonging and good workplace relationships. This recognition is based on a proven methodology that combines an internal survey of staff with an assessment of managerial practices. This comprehensive and independent approach provides a reliable snapshot of the day-to-day lives of teams and their perception of the company.

In practice, the organisation uses the Trust Index©, an anonymous survey sent by email to all employees and structured around five aspects:

  1. Credibility: assesses the level of trust placed in management and senior leadership, i.e. the clarity of the vision, the quality of communication, the consistency between statements and decisions, and the perception of managerial competence

  2. Respect: measures the extent to which employees feel valued and supported in their work. This aspect includes being listened to, professional support, work-life balance and recognition of individual contributions

  3. Fairness: relates to the sense of justice within the organisation, which is fostered by equal treatment, pay equity, the absence of favouritism and respect for differences, regardless of role, seniority or profile

  4. Pride: refers to the sense of purpose in one’s work and a sense of belonging to the organisation. It reflects a sense of being valued, the appreciation of the work carried out, and commitment to the organisation’s values, commitments and impact

  5. Camaraderie: assesses the quality of relationships between colleagues – team spirit, solidarity, mutual support, the integration of new recruits and the overall working atmosphere – fostering a sense of enjoyment in working together.

Based on these responses, only organisations that meet or exceed a certain satisfaction threshold are eligible for certification, which is valid for one year and renewable thereafter.

When was Aroma-Zone certified and on what criteria?

Aroma-Zone was officially awarded Great Place to Work® certification for the first time in May 2025. This recognition confirms that the majority of its employees have expressed a predominantly positive view of their experience at work, combined with internal practices deemed engaging, fair and stimulating.

This certification is awarded by Great Place to Work France, following an international methodology based on the two complementary pillars described above. Firstly, there is the Trust Index© survey, in which all employees are invited to respond anonymously to the questionnaire provided by the organisation. This first pillar is then complemented by an assessment of internal practices: beyond the statistics, the analysis also draws on the measures put in place by the company to support well-being at work, internal communication, career development and fairness.

A word from Human Resources

To better understand the impact of the Great Place to Work® certification on the day-to-day lives of our teams, Catherine Casabianca, Head of Human Resources at Aroma-Zone, discusses the company’s culture and the factors that drive employee engagement.

Aroma-Zone: In your view, why are employer accreditations coming under increasing scrutiny?

Catherine Casabianca: Candidates’ expectations have changed significantly in recent years, particularly with regard to social and environmental responsibility (CSR). Younger generations are particularly attentive to the consistency between the values a company professes and its actual practices. Employer accreditation schemes provide an objective benchmark for assessing this alignment.

Aroma-Zone: What distinguishes our corporate culture today and enables it to be recognised?

Catherine Casabianca: It is first and foremost the history of Aroma-Zone, founded over twenty years ago in Provence, that makes it unique, as well as this culture of wellbeing in the broadest sense. Our priority is to care. That means looking after our customers, whilst paying the same attention to our staff.

Aroma-Zone: Can you share a recent example of an initiative that was particularly well received by staff?

Catherine Casabianca: In early 2026, Aroma-Zone organised a social gathering centred around the galette des rois at our various sites. Sabrina Herlory Rouget, the company’s CEO, made a point of attending each of these gatherings. This event was particularly well received, demonstrating the management’s approachability and the accessibility of senior leadership.

Aroma-Zone: What future developments are now being considered to build on this momentum?

Catherine Casabianca: The Great Place to Work survey will be repeated regularly to track how perceptions evolve over time. In the meantime, the results are shared with teams on the ground to fuel discussions and identify areas for improvement. Tailored action plans are then drawn up jointly, taking into account the specific circumstances and needs of each department.
