Why take melatonin?
To get to sleep more quickly when your biological clock is out of kilter.
To reduce the time it takes to fall asleep when sleep is disturbed. Taking melatonin before going to bed is a way of sending the body a message that it's time to go to sleep.
To combat jet lag. Taking melatonin enables the melatonin naturally secreted by the body to return to its normal rhythm, resetting the body clock.
It is not addictive or habit-forming, and you won't wake up feeling groggy the next day.
Why choose Aroma-Zone melatonin plant-based food supplement?
Composed of natural melatonin of plant origin, 100% native to the St John's wort plant(Hypericum perforatum). Melatonin is naturally contained in its plant matrix.
Each melatonin batch is analysed for microbiological content, heavy metals, pesticides, traces of hypericin and hyperforin, etc. to guarantee the product's high quality and purity.
The daily dosage can be adapted to suit the desired effect: 1 capsule a day to reduce the effects of jet lag, or 2 capsules a day to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep.
It doesn't have a staggered release over time, so there is no difficulty waking up or risk of drowsiness the next morning.
With no unnecessary additives or hidden ingredients, our melatonin is available in a capsule made from plant-based cellulose and organic acacia gum (essential for guaranteeing a precise dose of melatonin). Acacia gum is a natural prebiotic fibre with numerous nutritional benefits.
Ingredients: Bulking agent: ORGANIC Acacia gum; capsule shell: Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose; melatonin extracted from St John's wort (Hypericum perforatum L.).
Product containing 99.38% ORGANIC ingredients.

Melatonin is a hormone that is naturally present in our bodies. It is secreted in the brain, by the epiphysis, from an amino acid, tryptophan. This is then converted into serotonin, then N-acetyl serotonin and finally melatonin. It is known as the sleep hormone because it plays an important role in our sleep cycles.
Melatonin is responsible for the internal clock, known as the circadian rhythm, which regulates the sleep/waking rhythm. Melatonin is unique in that it is only synthesised in the dark, as the conversion of serotonin into N-acetyl serotonin cannot take place in the presence of light.
The secretion of melatonin, which is inhibited during the day, increases shortly after nightfall. This is the natural signal that it's almost time to go to bed and triggers the process of falling asleep. It peaks between 2 and 4 in the morning and then decreases during the second half of the night. This decrease is the signal that it's time to wake up.
Although melatonin is produced naturally by our bodies, its secretion can get disrupted so that it stops working as intended. More often than not, this is due to inappropriate exposure to light at a time when we should be in the semi-darkness. This is particularly the case with the blue light from the screens we use in the evening, a "light pollution" that delays the onset of slumber and therefore the moment when we actually go to sleep. Or, conversely, exposure to light that isn't intense enough during the day can disrupt the rhythm of its secretion.
Certain foods and plants are naturally rich in melatonin, the sleep hormone. These include cherries, walnuts, maize, oats and tomatoes.
Plants such as St John's wort, chamomile, lavender, verbena, hawthorn and valerian are known to help you relax and improve the quality of your sleep, thanks to their relaxing effects. They can be taken as herbal teas and infusions before going to bed, or as dietary supplements.

Perfect for the sleep troubles I've been experiencing lately. Falling asleep quickly, with no nighttime awakenings. Very good product.
Compared to what you find in pharmacies, I find the effect gentler but no less effective. Falling asleep and waking up are more pleasant, no migraines after use. An effective aid against sleep disorders and to encourage a healthy sleep rhythm when needed. I recommend it!
